Description

This module is designed to provide you with the necessary guidance and support to review your current policy or create a selection criteria and policy for your club/association.

This module will guide you through:

  • How to recruit your selectors
  • The skill set required by the selection committee
  • How to review your existing selection policies
  • Methods for selection
  • Benchmarking players performance
  • Collecting data
  • The appeals process for players

Where you see the ‘Q’ (left) symbol, you will be asked to reflect upon your team/club as it is currently. this is a great opportunity to take stock of where your team/club is at and give yourself a pat on the back if your selection processes are in line with the best practice for bowls. If not, there may be improvements to make your selection process smooth, transparent and above all else, conductive to winning.

To get the most out of the Selection Module, you should firstly download and print the workbook PDF in the resources tab. Each section of the module provides you with an opportunity to both reflect on your current practices and begin to build some new processes.

You can do this by yourself at your own pace, or it also works effectively in small groups when you take the opportunity to discuss the various sections requiring your written input.
